8. STOPPING THE

NGINE
1. Move shift/throttle lever to
NEUTRAL and let engine
idle for about 5 minutes to
allow engine to cool down.
2. Press ENGINE STOP switch(es) on the Ignition
switch panel.
3. Turn OFF ignition key(s) on
the DC distribution panel.
4. If you are leaving the boat
for more than two hours,
turn OFF battery switch.

9. STEERING SYSTEM
The steering system is an enclosed push-pull cable
that is hydraulically assisted (power steering) at the
stern drive end (Fig. 3.6.4 & 3.6.5). THE CABLE
AND ITS CONNECTIONS TO THE STEERING
WHEEL AND TO THE OUT DRIVE MUST BE
INSPECTED AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR BY
YOUR SEA RAY DEALER. See Section 8 of this
manual for inspection, service and maintenance
recommendations.
Failure of the steering system will cause loss of
control of your boat. Any change in steering such as
looseness, tightness, binding, etc., must be checked
immediately by your Sea Ray dealer.

The power steering pump (Fig. 3.6.5) fl uid level
MUST be checked every time prior to using the
boat. Refer to the steering system information in
your Owner’s Packet.
